"God was not high in my priorities when I was told that I had a cancerous tumor behind my larynx, and had only three months to live. I received the last rites of my church and then some people came to pray for the success of the surgery. As I lay on the operating table, I heard the doctor say, "It is getting late". I realized then just how late it was in my life and then, you may not believe this, but I heard God say," "I need you now Robert, my son, to tell your story as I want it told." The experience was one of peace. The surgery was a success, but because of a mechanical device in my throat, I can't tell of God's miracle, as my Savior wants me to, but I can write it to the world."
