"On top of runnin' and gunnin', I added drugs and alcohol to my madness until I no longer recognized my face in the bathroom mirror. Even with three wonderful children, my life had no meaning. Because of AA, I was able to stay drug and alcohol free for seven years, but still felt empty inside. I started going to church and would sit in the back and cry. On Easter,I was sitting and crying, listening to the pastor thinking that he was talking directly to me. I was wondering who told him what to say. I suddenly felt the hand of God on my heart.
