"I'm a Christian high-school English teacher, who tried to live as if God did not exist. It appeared I had a wonderful life: faithful companion, stable job, plenty of money, trophied sportsman, Masters degree, and noteriety. I should have been happy and content. Then why was I alcohol dependent, and dissatisifed? When three of my students were killed, I spiralled into a depression and my drinking increased.
