My pride nearly ruined our Christmas. In seminary, money was tight for me, my wife, and two boys. We had no money for gifts, and we desperately needed a washer and dryer. We prayed about it. My aunt placed our names on a list for people that needed help. When the church called, I said no that we were ok. I let my pride get in the way. My aunt found out about it and told me I was always preaching that if someone wanted to help you and you refused you had robbed them from a blessing. We called and said we would accept help. We were given a new washing machine and dryer, and all the hook-ups, and then someone took my wife shopping and bought food and clothing for the boys. Christmas has not been the same since. Vernon.
