"Until I was thirty-five years old, I considered myself a Christian. I attended church, was baptized, participated in communion, and did "good works". But two events occurred that changed my life forever. At 7:30 P.M. on July 1, 1985, my dad died suddenly at the age of seventy-seven. It was this unexpected event that triggered the second one of accepting Christ into my life. It wasn't a person who brought me to Christ but the working of the Holy Spirit who brought me to the realization that "no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (John 3:3). That "born again" experience brought a peace like I've never known. I lost my earthly father, but I gained a Heavenly Father. Christ conquered death, and one day I'll be reunited with my dad.
