In both elementary and Junior High School, I was too shy to speak to anyone. I had no friends and no social life, nothing but God. I was so shy that to talk to someone, unless they approached me first, was beyond me. It was hard and it was painful, but looking back on it, I thank God for it, because I learned to let Jesus be my best friend. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." That's exactly what I did. I got to the point where I couldn't go to sleep at night unless I had talked to Him and let Him talk to me through the Bible. It has been six years since God brought me out of my shell, but I still sleep with my Bible held tight to my heart. It's as close as I'll get to hugging Him on earth.
