In 1975, the Bill Glass Crusade came to the DeSoto Correctional Institution where I was serving a 15 year sentence. A Friday evening Bible Study was organized and I attended for only one reason. I was "going to use these people, and "con" them to get their money and anything else I could get." Boy. was I in for a shock. Their sincerity and unconditional love finally broke through to me. The one guy the Lord used as the final "straw" that broke my spiritual back was a guy named Richard (who is now on Death Row on another charge). On May 19th, 1975 at 10:15 P.M. the Lord came into my heart and set me free. I cried real tears for the first time since childhood. I was released in 1979 and have been "free" and sober since.
