I was raised in a mainline denomination that was very legalistic. I knew only the "do nots" of Scripture. On Sunday my dad, who was a trustee, would dress in his suit and take his wife and 5 children to church. On Sunday afternoon he molested his two daughters and then went back to church Sunday night. Because of his hypocricy I turned to drugs, alcohol and sex. I was filled with hate and bitterness. After receiving Jesus, God gave me the tools to forgive my dad. When he became paralyzed from cancer, I took him into my home to care for him. Dad had repented, but It was only when I ministered to his pain-racked body, bathed him, turned him and catheterized him, that he finally felt forgiven.
