I lay in the middle of the road...cold, numb from head to toe, having no idea what had just happened to me. I heard someone ask, "Can you feel your legs?" "No", was all I remember saying. Then all went dark. Three days from my eighteenth birthday, my friend and I had been horseback riding in the Southern California mountains. I didn't see the truck. It hit me broadside at 55 m.p.h., threw me over the cab, into the truckbed and onto the pavement. My ankles and knees were crushed, ribs broken, teeth chipped and hair scraped off. I had no insurance. The worst part was that I didn't know who or what had spared me UNTIL I invited Jesus into my heart. He has since "led me beside the still waters" and is "restoring my soul."
