As a war-weary freak and biker who lived on LSD and love-ins in the sixties, I searched for something to satisfy my emptiness. Running drugs, prostitutes, pornography, and a hit contract attempt didn't do it. A bungled robbery of a store I managed resulted in my capture. During my trial two of my previous employees displayed a peace that I wanted. When I asked what drug they were on, Scott told me he took LJC every day. Later he explained that LJC stood for the Lord Jesus Christ. "Don't give me that stuff!" I yelled. "Christians are hypocrites." Scott's answer stopped me. "Don't judge Jesus because we don't measure up to His standard." That night, I met God in what some might describe as an hallucinogenic phenomenon. But it was God. After emptying myself of guilt and accepting God's forgiveness, I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning. The empty space that I struggled to fill for so long was finally filled by Jesus.
