I am disabled, and in my second year of high school, I had no friends who walked like me, nobody who couldn't drive a car. I had had one friend since kindergarten who invited me to a church group. The people at the church group were fun people. They told me when they were sad, when they were mad, when they were confused, and glad, and they didn't ask me when I was going to get my driver's license. I was also learning how to swim. I read John 5:1-9, about the invalid who is waiting by the pool at Bethesda, and knew that the Lord wanted to stir up blessings for me, just as I was. I was not as confused. I forgave my friends for wanting more than I could do and accepted Jesus in the summer of 1987. I listened more to the sermons of the church and was baptized in December 1988.
