I accepted His invitation at age 7 but my Mother's death when I was 19 turned me away from the Lord. With intense anger toward God I began drinking; and swearing became my primary way of communication. I knew the Lord wanted me to proclaim His Word, but I ran harder and swore louder for five more years. On November of 1995 I heard a sermon about commitment. When I bowed my head I saw Jesus with arms out- stretched saying, "Are you going to preach for me now?" That night I rededicated myself (John 3:30). Ironically, the preacher that spoke when I rededicated myself was the same preacher at my home church when I was saved at 7. This happened 20 years later and in a church 600 miles away.
