I have been a fighter all my life - had to be to survive my childhood years... growing up in an alcoholic family. My folks met in a church but never were religious in any way with us kids. Fortunately, I had two aunts and one grandmother who took me to church whenever I visited them. Had a great influence on me throughout my life... I feel I was always a believer in God but didn't really start my journey with Him until I had kids. I really wanted to pursue my own spiritual needs then as well as educate my children. As years passed... kids grew... I became an addict also... ended up in treatment and by God's grace I am alive today... AA is such a blessing in that God is at the forefront of their program... since my recovery I have a stronger relationship with the Lord (Phil. 4:13).
