My son Brian was born on September 17,2000. This was a day I would never forget because he was a new beginning for me. You see my mom went to be with the Lord just five months earlier. My son was my reason to stay strong. Three months after his birth, Brian was diagnosed with down syndrome. I couldn't believe it was true because I was only twenty-five years old and I loved the Lord so I didn't think he would allow this to happen to me. My husband called me at my job to give me the news. My first reaction was hurt. I cried and asked God why? My boss saw how upset I was and told me to go home. On my way home I heard in a soft voice "trust me", I knew that it was my heavenly father. From that moment I stopped crying and told God I trusted him (proverbs 3 5-6). When I arrived home my husband and I decided that everything will be o.k. and we would trust God! My son grew and developed with great strides. We were so happy that he was doing so good. When he turned nine months old the enemy tried to attack because every thing was going so well(John 10:10). Brian started having what doctors call infantile spasms. They said Brian would pretty much be a sad case. I had to start giving him injections twice a day(I never thought I would have to do anything like that). I was told that even if the spasms stopped they would most likely return at the age of two. Remember through all this I'm still trusting God. Well, I am a witness that Brian is now three years old and has not had a spasm since he was eleven months old(praise God). My son attended United Cerabal Palsy for two years. He speaks using single words and some sign language right now but the sky is the limit when you believe in God and his word. Don't let any one put a limit on your child. That child was destined to be here! Figure out his/her gift and us it to glorify God. You'll be surprised, TRUST AND BELIEVE!!!!
