After thinking I was a Christian for so long... God showed me I needed Him by calling me on the phone. I've recently had to quit my job and stay home with my kids when we discovered my sons had been sexually abused. The worst part was the man responsible was my step-dad. My mother quit talking to me. This was a horrible feeling. I remember crying one night and God spoke to me and said, Amy, I'm your Father, Mother & everything, don't worry I will fill the gap and heal this pain. I then asked the Holy Spirit to come back into my life and dwell. Then I got a prayer journal. As I wrote in it I knew God was going to answer my prayers. I was looking over the answered prayers later and noticed God was answering them in order. The next prayer to be answered was , "Lord,please let my mother call me." I read that and thought, she'll never call me why did I write that? Just then the phone rang. I was so excited I knew it would be her. Instead, I answered and no one said anything. I checked my caller id and it said 1-000-000-0000! Then as I sat there crying it dawned on me God called me. He spoke to my heart and said, "Remember, I told you,Amy, I'm your father and mother. I'm calling you because your mother will not." I just sat and wept at how awesome He is. Isaiah 49: 15,16... "Can a woman forget her sucking child,that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
