As an only child, I always found really precious God's firm promise: "I will set the solitary into families" I enjoyed being taught, via word & example, by my Bible College graduate mother, both to talk to God daily, as my Best Friend, & to read our Maker's Manual - the Bible daily Wherever we lived, mum's qualifications, & her clear passion for God & for people, got her in as Sunday School Superintendent The problem came when we moved @ 10 miles - to just opposite a parish church Like Rowan Williams, the vicar was both intellectual & "liberal/modernist" In short, his unbiblical teachings turned me into an atheist Mum still had a free hand in Sunday School, & taught Bible truth uncompromisingly But soon, things came to a head for both of us, & I told mum & dad, for the 1st time, that the church's words & actions had killed my belief To my surprise, both said they were relieved -because what was preached & practised there was not the gospel, was not biblical, but a false gospel of trying to earn salvation by good works We went to the evangelical, Bible-believing church dad was brought up in For years, I'd believed that I was too bad to even talk to God, but now, I heard again how, though our human sinfulness does indeed cut us off from our holy, perfect God, Jesus' death on the cross paid the penalty for every sin He reconciles all who trust in His once-for-all sacrifice, ask Him to forgive us for all the bad things we've ever done, & invite Him into our heart, as our Saviour & Lord That's how God fulfils that precious promise, to "putthe solitary into families" The Bible teaches that all outside of Christ are alienated - not only from God, but from each other - but coming to Christ, sincerely, brings not only true fellowship with Almighty God, but breaks down all human barriers, reconciling old to young, rich to poor, male to female, black to white, boss to worker If you read this through loneliness, but have responded to the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ now, welcome to the family of God - "all 1 in Christ" He also still heals - the body, the mind, the soul & the spirit Through corporate prayer & laying on of hands, in several Pentecostal churches, down the year, God has healed me of severe stutter, chronic asthma/bronchitis & clinical depression So, welcome to the strongest, healthiest family ever! It's also the supreme Royal Family of the universe - U R now a Prince/Princess of the King of kings & Lord of lords This 2 January 2003, despite all dire warnings of war, famine, pestilence, etc, (which are all in Matthew 24, etc), let the Prince of Peace give U the "peace that passes understanding" HAPPY NEW LIFE!!!
