Two weeks after becoming engaged, my fiance was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. We had been living in sin. The very day he was diagnosed, we both said "Well, He sure has His ways of getting his children back." By the following week, we had withdrawn from college, and moved in with his niece in a neighboring state, where he could receive chemotherapy. My parents graciously let me move in and take care of him. (He lost his mother and father while he was a teenager.) He immediately called a former pastor of him, asking for names of good churches in the area. That was on Saturday, and we found our church home on Sunday. We both rededicated out lives to the Lord that day. About a month passed, and the church held a designated healing service. Half-way through the service, the associate pastor took my husband by the hand and led him to the altar. The instant the oil and the hands touched him, it was like a bolt of lightning/glory struck him. Numerous members of the church knew what had happened before leaving church that day. The next day, my husband was scheduled for a CATscan. To the doctor's surprise, the grapefruit-size tumor was gone after only 4 treatments of chemo. The doctor threatened us, and even cursed at us, declaring that he would most certainly die if he did not complete his treatment. But we took a walk of faith. A year and a half later, I continue to give God the praise for both saving our souls, and for healing his body. Whoever says miracles no longer happen obviously doesn't know MY God, because He's still in the healing business. Isaiah 58:8 - Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you, the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
