Greetings Saints, I pray this testimony will bless you as it has me. There have been many a prophetic word spoken about the captives and especially the incarcerated. Bill Younts "Treasures behind bars" for one. This is a praise about such prophetic words. In 1992 while I was an inmate in a CA. prison I was holding a prayer meeting in my cell with four other women. As we prayed the presence of God filled the room and we experienced a fragrance that was unlike anything we had ever smelled. Beautiful & incredible are the only words to describe it. I heard the Holy Spirit say "I am going to tear down the foundations of the prison and rebuild it with my word" We all were so excited and then the smell filtered out into the halls and the officers made us all lock in our cells so they could search for the foreign smell. They searched every cell, They never found anything but we knew where it came from. I have waited for some years and watched to see this come to pass. Since my release God has allowed me to go back into the same jail of my arrest but this time as a minister to those on the inside and that is where this praise report comes from. In this past year we have seen incredible things going on. The spiritual climate of the jail has changed. God is on the move. Our jail holds 120 women and 500 men. There are very few ministers yet God has chosen to bless the ministry times. There are cell blocks known as the Christian cells. In one case a women's tank (as it is called) is all Christian spirit filled loving saints and the staff will put there "problem women" in there with them because they know that within days their "problems" become Christian too and things get better. We have watched the transformation of murderers, thieves, and drug addicts and have literally seen their physical appearance change so much so that it is noticed by the unsaved staff. They are ministering one to another and catching the vision of "Kingdom Living" right here on earth. Even behind bars there is a mighty kingdom being built by the hand of God. We have had many new salvations every week and at one point the jail was nearly 40% Christian. Not only are they getting saved they are being baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues before we even pray for them to receive. At the time of inception they are getting it all and we are teaching them what is happening to them. It is awesome to say the least. We noticed the favor and the expectancy that God was about to do something great and He did. Last week they had to release quite a number of inmates early and most of these "kick outs" were the Christians. Praise the Lord !!! They went out changed. Pray for these please that they remain and are directed by the Lord as to where to find fellowship and remain plugged in. Now the jail is full again. We have been told along with this new inflow of inmates more of a battle is being felt. One lady told me that when this last group came in she felt for the first time the ugly presence of the enemy and that she found herself praying against the wickedness as she knelt by her bunk. She said to me "do you think God could be using me as an intercessor even though I am a convicted murderer ?" My joy was full. I had recognized the power that God is bringing to the women of this particular jail and how He is training them even when we are not there. One woman said she had gotten discouraged because at one time the jail was actually pleasant and they felt Gods presence and then these bad spirits started coming in with these new women and she wanted to go back to being solitary but she remembered something I had said about a mission field and as she looked at the women who are in homosexuality and other stuff she realized God had sent her her own mission field and she is not solitary but preaching and standing on the glory of the risen king. She is excited knowing that this battle is the Lords and He will change things like He did months before. Pastors are being raised in the jail to pastor those inside. Teachers are teaching and the hunger they have for the word is cause for some of us to be convicted. Preachers are speaking out for God to all who will hear. My heart is so full as I watch the Lord rebuild this jail as I get to witness it. Truly revival has come to this place and I know 'no weapon formed against it shall prosper" I beg you to pray as often as you can for the incarcerated especially in this place that it may be a sign to those who will hear and see that God can and will completely transform anyone and anyplace and make it a place of truth and holiness. Not all have accepted Him but they are all taking notice and watching. This is an hour for fervent prayer that our time here on earth, what is left of it, will yield more and more fruit "that none should perish but that all should come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ."
