God is blessing me and my husband with the adoption of twin boys. This story is a bit long but it is a true sign of God's mighty miracles. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for several years now and we have had 2 miscarriages but no children. I have been through all of the test and procedures and my husband has too. The doctors cannot find any reason why we cannot have a baby, we just have not been able to yet. After all these years, we had sort of given up hope of ever having children of our own. We discussed adoption, but we decided that we could not afford the costs involved in adopting. On December 20, 2000 my sister came over and asked me to go shopping with her. I declined but she insisted, so I got ready and we left. The whole ride to the store all we talked about was 2 things, my desire to have children and a friend of hers that she had not seen in 12 years. I had mentioned that maybe The Lord wanted us to parent adopted children, maybe we were to make the difference in the lives of children who were born to mothers that did not want them. We arrived at the store and a few minutes later I ran into an old friend that I had not seen in over 15 years. I told her that my husband and I had not had any children yet and could not afford to adopt so we probably would never have children. She said "REALLY, I HAPPEN TO KNOW A VERY YOUNG GIRL WHO IS READY TO HAVE TWIN BOYS IN JANUARY AND SHE IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO ADOPT THEM BUT CANNOT FIND ANYONE TO TAKE THEM, WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED?" I suddenly felt like my whole life was about to change. I immediately knew that these two boys were to be our children. She told me that the adoption would be private and we would not have to pay anything except for the $115.00 court fees to make the adoption final. She said she would help me with the paperwork because she had adopted a baby with similar circumstances just as few moths ago. The birth mother just wanted to make sure the children would have a good family. After exchanging numbers with her I proceeded to the checkout counter with my sister and guess who was standing in the line next us????? The girl my sister and I had talked about in the car, the one she has not seen in over 12 years! It was like seeing the rainbow after the flood! I knew at that very moment that God had put her in that store to give me a sign that these were to be my twin boys. I cried all the way home. I called my friend the next day and she had already called the young girl that is having the twins. She told me that the birth mother said she would do whatever it takes to make sure that we leave the hospital with the twins and she will sign whatever needs to be signed and so will the dad. I called an attorney and he said that as long as she signs a letter granting guardianship to us and has it notarized that we can take the babies home and file for adoption within the first 6 months. God is so good and so mighty! He may not always give us the answer to our prayers or the desires of our hearts right away, but he does it in his time. He knows what is best for us. He said "If you love me, I will give you the desires of your heart". The Word of God says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". I have not seen my two precious angels yet but I have faith and believe with all my heart and soul that these children belong with us and will be ours. I also believe the souls of our 2 babies that died are in these two little boys that will soon be ours. My dad is a pastor of a church close to where I live and I will have my babies dedicated to God by him. We have decided to name our boys, Emmanuel Louise and Anthony Rashon.
