My name is Stanley Liu. I am Deaf and 25 years old. I am from
Fremont, California. I would like to share with you my testimony about
my
life before I met Jesus. I was not enjoying my life. My parents got a
divorce
when I was young, they did not get along together. My father moved back
to
Honk Kong without saying good-bye and hugging me. He wanted to stay
with his
mother and take care of her because she was getting old and sick. I
cried and
cried. I thought I would never see my father again. I lived with my
mother
and her boyfriend whom I didn't like. I decided I wanted to run away,
to join
a gang and make friends. I found new friends and hung out with them. I
pretended to enjoy it but I was not really enjoying my life.

One day, when my Deaf friend and I were selling illegal
fireworks at my place, we got caught. The policemen and a news cameraman came into
my
apartment and I was really shocked. They arrested me and my friend and
I felt
so terrible. I was thinking about killing myself. I didn't want to live
anymore because i hated having so many problems.

A San Francisco policeman at the police station met with me.
His name
is Bob Herbold, he did not look happy, but he was friendly. I knew he
wanted
to help me. While Bob was doing the paperwork, he asked me if I wanted
a soda,
I was surprised he even offered. I noticed something different about
him,
about his spirit, I wanted that. He asked my Deaf friend and I if we
wanted
to go camping with him and his friends. I was surprised he had asked me
something like that because I had just been arrested. He showed trust
in me
and that lifted me up. I went camping with him and he tal! ked about many
different things in life. He wanted me to explain what I wanted to do
with my
life such as school, a job, etc. Later on, I realized that was the seed
planted in my life that would bloom later on.

At the Deaf school, I met a new friend named Lee Brock. He
wanted to
talk to me about Jesus. He shared with me how much Jesus loves me and
that He
wanted to change my life. He also told me the difference between hell
and
heaven. Lee's father is a Deaf pastor. In 1995, I went to his house and
they
prayed for me. Later I accepted Jesus as my personal savior. My life
soon
changed so much, I finally felt there was a purpose in my life. One
year
later, I decided to call Officer Bob. I wanted to meet with him. I
wanted him
to know I had changed. When I saw him I asked him if he was a
Christian, he
said yes, he is. I knew there was something differ! ent about him and now
I
know. He cared enough about me and taught me how to care about other
people.

After becoming a Christian, I decided to share my faith with
all of
my friends. They were shocked when they saw how much Jesus changed my
life.
Some of my friends wanted to accept Jesus as their savior too. I also
shared
Christ with my mother and she accepted Him as her savior. I wanted to
see my
father. I prayed for a long time and I finally found him in Los
Angeles. He
was back. I hadn't seen him for 10 years, God had answered my pray. I
cried
and I wanted to see him so badly so I took a train to Pennsylvania. I
shared
Jesus with him and he too accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. I was so
happy
that both of my parents were saved.

I have witnessed to a lot of my friends and that has helped me prepare
for my future calling I never thought I would be doing ... Being a
youth
leader and working in other ministries.....
