I was an angry, rebellious University student, and sartori-experienced Soto-sect Zen Buddhist. Militantly antichristian in all my thoughts and directions. A wonderful girl came into my life. Her big brown eyes radiated a total 'soul-peace' that I knew nothing about. Her life and demeanour demonstrated a personal joy and very attractive security quite beyond my life experiences. We married and my new Father-in-Law, a pastor, challenged me with "How come you're not a Christian, John?". I told him "Prove the Bible to my satisfaction, and I'll listen to you!". The paperback copy of Dr Peter Stoners "Science Speaks" which 'Pop' posted me soon humbled my arrogant attitudes. Through that small book I appreciated the Divine inspiration of the Bible. My engineering/math's background validated all the statistics "Science Speaks" showed. So when "Pop" revisited us I was quite prepared for him to show me the Bibles awesome Gospel plan. The plan of my repentance, my turning from sin, and my salvation through that first Easter sacrifice when the Lord Jesus Christ redeemed me through his own death. As Pop spoke, I actually had this (no drugs, no alcohol!) 'daytime vision' of me being backed into a pitch black corner, and seeing a very bright cross in front of me - the only exit - from the 'dark corner' that my life was. I prayed the 'sinners prayer' of forgiveness, asking the Lord into my heart and life. 1 John 5:13b ... that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. That night I slept like a baby. The new morning was a world of brighter colours to me. Really! I finally knew experientially, that peace inside me which my darling wife had radiated to me so attractively at our first meeting.
