I the huge 220lb. football player/teddy bear that fit into any croud and could say hi to anyone in the halls, about a year ago was different and missing one HUGE thing. I got into any croud so I did everything, including drinking, smoking, drugs and basically partied every weekend. The football field was my venting place where my fears were gone and I could hit anyone as hard as i wanted to. MY mom at home didn't know what was into me and wasn't sure what I wanted in life, neither was I. We constantly got in crowals and I even thought about suicide. She was too much for me and I was really close to ending it. I didn't care about life and no one cared about me. I went against my thoughts and decided to go on this retreat my aunt really wanted me to go on. It's a nation wide reatreat through the Methodist Church. I went sang and had fun, with Christians. I didn't believe it. Brought up not thinking or knowing much about God or Jesus Christ, I was astonished. The last day we are given a chance to go and pray with the people your were with all weekend. I went and was so scared. Jesus had something for me in that little room. A gift I would never forget. I opened my heart to hi mthere in that little church nursery. Praying and crying for everything in my life. He showed me what he could do in those couple weeks to follow. One of my really good friends came up to me two days later and asked if I wanted her cigarettes. I said yes and went home and burned them. It was definately a gift from God and I couldn't believe it. Sense then I've grown and become a "on fire" Christian. I'm active in all church functions and am involved in a large part of my state. I've become Godly centered and have a Christian girlfriend.
