I am the single parent of a son whose 19th b'day is today. On last night he wanted to go to a "party" to celebrate his birth. Unsuccessfully I tried to convince him to stay in. As always I gave him a pep talk and let him go to the "party", but I did so asking that Jesus cover him with his blood and wrap my child in his loving arms. My son awoke me at 1 am to let me know that he was home and that he did not miss his curfew. Upon awakening this am my son informed me that as he was dancing and enjoying himself he had the feeling that he needed to go home, and he left the party and headed home. He says that as he was leaving, he passed several sheriff patrols. Upon reaching home and getting settled for the night a friend called him up and informed him that someone came into the party and started shooting at everyone and everything in sight.The young man that my son was just standing beside was the first to be shot (several times)and then the gunman proceeded to shoot other individuals. If not for a prayer sent from the heart would my son be a part of the tragedy that happened last night? The answer is yes, yes, and yes again!!!!!
