It was the summer of 1980 and it was a beutiful June day. She looked as beautiful as she had always.She was only 25 years old. Her four children were with her that day. No one would have guessed or wished that this day would be her last because she was loving and caring and all that any mother, daughter and friend should be. She sent her oldest son home to stay the evening with her parents and kept the other three. AS the night approached, anger erupted and the man she lived with shot and killed her in a fit of rage. That was the last time I saw my mother and the last thing I remember about her. That happened 20 years ago. Since then I have had signficant changes in my life. I went on to live with my grandparents and went to school like an ordinary child. I played and sang in church. God's hand was on my life. I gave my life to Christ when I was six years old. I tried committing suicide at least twelve times since then. I went on to be successful in elementary and junior high school. My brothers however did not react like I did. They ended getting int trouble and dropping out of school. At twelve, I accepted my call to preach and began my public ministry at 16. I went on to high school and college and am now a college graduate, happily married and successful in my ministry. I don't feel bad about what happened to my mother that day 20 years ago. I rejoice that I am now able to be what God wants me to be and my brothers also can celebrate the new life they have.
