I was getting ready to go bow hunting and my wife said "if your going to be gone all weekend would you please finish caulking those windows on the second floor." I said sure and proceded to get the equipment I would need. The caulking, a caulking gun, putty knife, and of coarse a ladder. I placed the ladder on the ground near the edge of the roof and agianst the gutter of the roof and the legs were on the asphalt driveway. I proceeded to get my things ready and started climbing the ladder. Let me take a minuet a tell you I'm early 40's and weight about 275 and about 5'7". Ok I'm proceeding up the ladder and get all the way to the top of ther roof and actually said to myself; wow I wonder what is keeping the legs of the ladder from skipping out. As I said this I was placing one foot on the edge of the roof and there goes the ladder. I came down like a ton of bricks. I landed on the ladder on the asphalt and I just laid there. I had fallen from a height of about 10 to 12 feet. My neighbor came running over and screamed "hey I saw you fall don't try to move you will only hurt yourself more". I rolled over onto the lawn and at that time realized I was fine a little brusied but nothing boken just bruised...but I know my gardian angel that caught me is FLAT.
