When I was younger, I used to take the Lord for granted. I wondered why my parents made me go to church. When I got out on my own I stopped going every Sunday because I felt like I just didn't need to go that often. At one point, I stopped going to church for an entire year! I started getting depressed and drinking, my finances were all screwed up. My life was a downhill spiral full speed! I didn't know where to turn or what I was going to do next. So I turned my life over to the Lord. Now I realize that I could never pay enough visits to the house of the Lord to thank Him for all he has done for me. My entire family is a living example of what God can do...my uncle was almost burned to death in an industial fire, my mother almost choked to death on New Year's Day, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, my oldest brother was in a coma for nine days and the doctors said that he would either die or live to be an invalid, my second oldest brother was in a fatal collision with a semi-truck, I became jaundice and almost died after a serious gall bladder infection, my oldest daughter was born with a hole in her heart, my youngest daughter suffers from chronic asthma, both of my brothers were drug addicts, my father was an alcoholic and an abuser, my fiance suffers from Congestive Heart Failure, an enlarged heart, arrhythmia and had a heart attack...but, God...God...never let us down. He saw all of us through the worst of situations! He's still in the blessing business! He may not come when you want him to come, but He's always right on time. I am now a youth choir director at my church in which both my daughters are members. I also sing in the women's choir. Now, I not only just show up for church on Sunday...I'm usually there for Sunday School on Sunday, Choir Rehearsal on Monday and Tuesday, and Prayer Meeting on Wednesday. Can I get an "Amen"!
