Even though the Christmas season is drawing to a close, I feel I must share my story and praise God for all his blessings! The weeks leading up to Christmas Eve had been a little hectic because my 20 year old daughter was experiencing migraine headaches almost daily. On Wed. evening before Christmas it became so severe that we decided to take her to the emergency room. The Dr. gave her some medicine that within 30 minutes had relieved her pain. He followed with a prescription to help her the next time she had one. We promptly had it filled the next day and she needed to take it again. The directions stated that she could take up to 4 in a 24 period, but she only ended up needing 3. That evening she didn't sleep good due to her eyes fluttering. She didn't pay too much attention thinking that maybe she had just had too much caffeine or something and it was affecting her. The following morning she began saying that her vision was really bad. Again, we just kind of shoved the thought off since she had been told she needed glasses a couple of weeks prior. As the hours went on, the symtoms began to worsen until she was on the verge of having seizures. Her eyes were rolling up and her neck was being pulled to one side. After being examined again in the emergency room, the Dr. told us that she was having a severe reaction to the medication and there was really nothing they could do except let the medicine that was causing this reaction wear off and even then sometimes irreversible damage could have been done. Needless to say, we began praying immediately. I knew the first thing I had to do was call my church and get a prayer chain started. The Dr. decided to try giving her a shot hoping that it would help. Within 30 minutes all the symtoms had disappeared. We praise God for our own Christmas Miracle! As we were leaving the hospital, we met my best friend from my church and her family and three of our deacons. They had left their homes immediately to come and give us support. I had called them just one hour earlier and here they were offering their support! I couldn't believe they had come so quickly considering it was Christmas Eve and they all live 45-50 minutes from the hospital! I am so thankful our prayers were answered and that we have a special family in our church family. Every Sunday we open our services with "I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God", and those words have never meant more to me than on Christmas Eve!
