I was a normal weed smoking, gangster, and alcoholic about a month ago. At that time, I was leaving night school with a severe sense of depression while I was walking home. I had thought about the many bad things I had done in the past and it made me feel even worse. As soon as I got home, something told me to go to my room and read the Bible, mainly the New Testament. So I read it and I started to gain this amazing sense of hope. So everyday I continue to read several chapters from the Gospel. Then on Veterns Day, on my way to work I began to feel this overwhelming feeling of God's love and presence, and throughout the week I continued to feel little bits of the same feeling. On the following Saturday, a friend of mine invited me to a Christian Youth get together called Deep Well, a weekly Christian would play songs there. So I went and when I went there I was talking to some people who explained to me about how to find your personal relationship with God. So after the conversation, I went into the room where the band was playing and I was thinking about what they told me. I began to look around the room and I began to relize that all the teens there were at peace with God and they had such deep feeling of love and friendship with each other. That's when I think that God decided to hit me full force with his Holy Spirit. The feeling was so amazing and powerful that I thought about how unworthy I was of God's love and Spirit that I ran out the room full of tears. A minute later my friend came out and comforted me and told that we all aren't worthy and deserving of it, but God loves us so much that he wants us to have and accept it. Ever since then I have quit smoking weed and getting drunk, so that I can show God how much I love him and his Son and I want to show him how much I appreciate what he did for me. I am still working out my other problems, like quiting smoking cigarettes, acting like a Christian, and overcoming temptation. But I Faith in Christ and his Father that they will give me the strength to overcome all those tests. I just wanted to give my testimony of joy so that everyone can know that that God is always with you and that through Christ you can and will be saved.
