I was born into a home where both my parents had close friendships with God. As I grew up, I had everything I needed: loving Christian parents, a house, food, clothes, and money. I went to church regularly and my parents had always taught me good, Christian morals. I had always been taught that God loved me and that He sent Jesus to die on a cross and that three days later He was risen from the dead. It wasn't until I was about four or five that I thought of having Jesus as MY best friend. I was about that age when I prayed a prayer asking God to forgive me for all the things I had done wrong and putting my complete trust in Jesus. But I didn't truly understand it all. When I was eleven years old, I went to Sunnybrae Bible Camp and God really spoke to me through the speaker, my youth pastor. He showed us a video that had scenes from when Jesus was crucified. I realized, then, that I was taking this gift from God for granted and I decided I needed to really live for Him. Ever since then, I know that I did the right thing. There have been many benefits from this decision. I can get to know Jesus personally, and I know that I have eternal life in heaven. I have grown in many ways and have had many opportunities to talk to my friends about the great life I'm living! And although my life is not always easy, I know that God loves me and that a much better life is waiting for me. There is a verse in the Bible that really means a lot to me. It's John 3:16 and I know that a lot of people like this verse. But it means so much. If you ever get a chance listen to a song called,"God So Loved," by Jaci Valesquez! It's so good and it's based on John 3:16 which says: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." This is one of the greatest promises you'll ever receive! Do you think it's possible that there's a better life waiting for you?
